Brandon Teena
Upon developing this organisation, the name arose from the very beginning. The Brandon Teena Project. While the project started out as a simple summer daydream which small talk had entailed between members of our group, it had grown through the inspiration of this man. Brandon Teena was a transgender person who had been subjected to horrible conditions under hate crimes of the 1970's. After being rejected by his family and brutally killed when escaping to people he had thought were his family, his name has shown as a light to the poor conditions many transgender people face every day.
MISSION
While society has changed somewhat from what it was, there is still room to grow. And so, the BT Project was developed in order to aid transgender teens to help from what they may experience. Many transgender people who come out of the closet often have no way of obtaining clothing and supplies that would fit their gender. To which, the Brandon Teena Project supplies for free.
SUPPLIES
We officially supply binders, boxers, button ups, deodorant, and tube socks in our FTM packaging and blouses, deodorant, shaving supplies, make-up kits for our MTF packages. These items are needed in order to aid transgender people from things such as dysphoria, the issue of passing, and their general mental health.
FOUNDERS
Our founders include Arthur Westcott, and transgender male, Kara Kimble, an advocate for transgender rights, and many others who help out at the project. Each one of these people have worked very hard in order to help those in need. For any questions, visit our Contact page.
